The Yves Saint Larent Spring Collection right now is feminine, elegant and sexy, while also being very chic. The connection is a direct line to the heyday of the seventies and eighties. Roberto Rimondi uses art to create the fashion. The mind and mood of these clothes were very energetic. Fantastic bright colors like oranges and turquoise. The clothes were enlightening but rigorous, high thigh slits on long flowey dresses. The women look very powerful and untouchable. Geometric, modern heals and flats.
Marc Jacob's dresses on the Spring runway collection for 2011 are very glamorous and over the top. He had a little bit of the trendy 70's theme feel but with more of a disco interpretation of the 1920’s and 1930's. The collection had sheer flapper dresses, and fans for props. He used animal prints on shinny material that was definitely eye-catching and glamourous.

Stella McCartney is a pragmatic designer, and is very innovative with her creations. She said she wanted to use suttle droplets of color palettes into whites. Karl Lagafield did a beautiful job with his Chanel fashion collection for his Spring 2011 show. The Chanel show was very exciting; it was shown in a oriental garden with shooting fountains. He used muff holes in his sweaters and feathers in his dresses. He does such a beautiful job with his shows, and I think he really thinks of CoCo when he designs and stays true to Chanel and her style.

For Valentino’s new designer Pier Paolo Piccioli showed his 2011 Spring Collection in Paris giving the brand a younger feel but with the same spirit. Wearable, but very chic, feminine, delicate pleats, skirts and blouses were very sensual but just a little dangerous, with a balance of dark lace and leather mixed in to it. The delicate fabrics had a variety of shades, nudes and pastels but white was the key color in this collection. The effortless long-sleeve day dress is on its way to becoming a Valentino statement.
Weathering embroidery and floral appliqués. The girls looked like strolling angels or fairies, which is what the designers were trying to get at. The craftsmanship and hand detail is a success for Valentino.

Jean Paul Gaultier revealed that his Spring Couture 2011 collection was the theme “punk cancan.” John Galliano had a graphic but sentimental feeling to his collection. He had a vintage inspiration from the late twenties, yet he used a 3-D look of embroideries with a pop of metallic sequins.. He used sheer fabrics and extravagant, big hats. The way he layers on the linens and silks is so eccentric.
